kemu - Kerstin Mueller

An exploration of virtual environments for living, working and playing for a masters thesis in Architecture in 1998 at the University of Stutgart initiated Kerstin's exploration of computer generated graphics. Her work won an award of distinction from the university and placed in the top 10 of Taiwan's FIEDAD computer architecture award in 1999.
Her virtual and augmented reality work continued with a collaboration with the University of Washington's Human Interface Technology lab in Seattle. Kerstin's "Shigo" illustrated the ARToolkit technology at the SIGGRAPH 2001 computer graphics conference. This research led to the augmented reality installation "Distraction". 6 large paintings define the boundries and connection points of a virtual environment through which one can walk. "Distraction" again placed in the top 10 in the 2002 FIEDAD award.
Her first solo work for SOURCE "fragment", highlights her crisp primary-color abstract three dimension aesthetic.
Kerstin continues work as an architect in Vienna.

symbio - Stephen Holland Chang

Stephen trained as apprentice/assistant to California based ecological/organic aimed architect Eugene Tsui. Inspired by immersive visual reality artist Char Davies - Stephen's university thesis project involved 3D animations of abstract lifeforms.
Moving to Seattle in 2001 Stephen teamed up with dandelion collective visual for several seasons of highly collaborative, choreographed VJ and light environment work. His rich enveloping atmospheric style of modelling drenched in deep animated texturing balanced the "real world" video of the rest of the dcv crew. Graphics developed for the Tropical L.A. DJ party found distribution on the SOURCE "elemental" release.
Stephen continues with architecture, building an earth-respecting straw bale house on the California praries. He is publishing a homestead journal to assist and inform others following a parallel path.

topherZ - Christoher Zimmermann

In 1998, Topher co-founded the dandelion collective. Over the next 4 years dandelion collective visual became a Seattle institution in the exploding underground dance music scene - closely connected to the NorthwestRaves internet community.
Tophers visual work continues where his physics education left off, exploring and communicating the beauty and complexity of the everyday world. Finding inspiration in the world animating techniques of Guy Roland ("Pacer") and David Berry ("New Versions"), Tophers SOURCE releases are high-velocity remixes and reanimations of photographed environments.
After local exhibition in the Bellevue art museums Film and Video festival and Seattle's MicroCinema: Independent Exposure , Topher's animated short "Intersection" was screened worldwide from Brazil to Japan in the "Directors Cut" program in the RESFEST 2001 Digital Film Festival tour.
Returning to the VJ fold, Topher and Kerstins co-directed music video "Image Park" placed 2nd in the 2004 Cinetrip VJ tournament Masterwork category in Budapest. Catching the eye of Addictive TV's Graham Daniels, Topher and Kestin were commisioned to remix Image Park for series 4 of U.K.'s ITV channel cult VJ television show, MixMasters.

XNOGRAFIKZ - Arturo Gil Olvera

Motion graphics designer, art director & video performing artist, born and raised in México city. A fiercely independent spirit, Arturo quit his job as a designer for Virgin Studios México in 1999 and launched XNOGRAFIKZ, producing mograph for ad agencies & corporate clients. His ultra-detailed, ultra-fast style has earned invitations to Bochum International Video Festival VJ Contest (DE) & Mapping Festival (CH). His experimental video work has been showcased and awarded in numerous contests & festivals including: VideoFest 2K6 (MX), Nemo Festival (FR), Live Cinema Nights (USA), Festival Interface (MX), Repeat Please: Cultura VJ (ES), Future Music's Experiments In Sound VJ Contest (US), Bitfilm Festival (DE), FICCO (MX).

At the core of his visuals are the (apparent) contradictions at the center of human experience and mexican culture. His visual sets make extensive use of mythologic & occult imagery; he cuts up, decontextualizes and reconfigures these powerful splinters of meaning, using them as a personal aid in the search for a center point of balance; the unification of harmonic opposites.
